General Education Committee
Committee reports to: Provost and Executive Vice President
Serves as the academic program coordinator for the general education core. This committee reviews and approves the general education component of courses. The committee’s voting membership comprises full-time faculty, and ex officio membership includes administrators with responsibility for general education oversight. The purpose of this committee is to: (1) Define and uphold the learning outcomes of the general education core. (2) Review courses for the general education core to ensure that courses align with the general education learning outcomes. (3) Recommend courses for General Education approval by the University Committee on Courses and Curricula (UCCC). (4) Facilitate the change management involved with adjusting to the new general education curriculum.
